The end of the year is a busy time for most people, but it can be particularly challenging if you’re in charge of planning a corporate event. There can be many different types of events that take place this time of year, from a small holiday party for a few employees to a large get together to celebrate the end of a successful year. There is a lot involved in a short amount of time and you have to stay on top of all of it, whether you’re planning an end of year bash or you’re looking to plan an event in the upcoming year. NY Party Works can help. We’re the party planning experts and we can help you every step of the way from planning to execution with our total event planning package. If you haven’t decided what you want to do with your event, we’d like to assist you with a timeline and checklist for planning a successful corporate event.
Early Planning Stages
The first step, of course, is to choose the type of party that you’re going to have. According to the human resources company ERC, the most common type of holiday party is a luncheon, the choice of 51 percent followed closely by evening parties, the choice of 38 percent of companies. At least two months before the event you should set the date and plan a party venue. Another important item to take care of early on your party planning checklist is figuring out a budget. This will entail working with your boss and anyone else who is involved in party planning.
Making Your Corporate Event Unique
Once you have the costs and the other basics figured out, it’s time to get creative. You should figure out a theme for your event. If you’re looking for a sophisticated night out, why not choose a casino theme with gaming tables, slot machines and a money cube. It’s not real gambling. You play for pride rather than money. Or you can have a circus theme with jugglers, a stilt walker, tight-rope artists and more. You’ll need to pick other forms of entertainment as well such as DJs MCs and dancers. These plans should also be made early on, preferably about two months before the party date,
Now it’s time to figure out the guest list, send out invitations and add touches like decor and food menu planning. This should all be done at least a month before the event date. NY Party Works can provide caterers for just about any type of event. You should finalize a menu about three weeks before your event.
As you get closer to your party, you should make sure any guests have RSVP’d and begin to gather party supplies. You can add touches like our photo booths or star in your own music video. NY Party Works can provide lighting and special effects, and club style lounge furniture.
That just leaves planning for the actual day itself. This is the time to make sure you know the final guest list, set out food and prepare party activities. You’ll also put up decorations or you can use NY Party Works decorating services. If you’re planning the party, we know you’ll be busy making sure things run smoothly, but we hope you can take the time to enjoy what you created.
